Riding Lessons
Windy Pines Farm offers riding lessons in Holland, NY. You will get an individualized experience that is unparalleled! Our horseback riding instruction is tailored for your needs. Our instructors are highly trained and very experienced. We also provide English and Western riding lessons. We cater to the beginner, intermediate, and advanced rider.
Many of our horseback riding classes are conducted individually in a private setting, which ensures that the rider receives instruction specific to his or her level and needs. As a beginning rider, you will learn to walk, trot, canter, and halt. You may also learn to back and leg yield. Once you’ve mastered the basics, we will teach the intermediate rider how to manage the horse in all gaits. Lastly, advanced riders will prepare for competition by honing their riding and horse management skills.
If you prefer group instruction, we have that as well. We offer specific programs for children, and we have workshops geared toward specific age groups. We can provide students with safety helmets and boots until they procure them on their own. Not only will we teach you how to ride the horses, but we also show riders how to care for the horses, which is an important component of our work. We cover topics such as stable care, dietary needs of the horses, and ground manners.
Our primary concern is always the student’s safety. We will never push a student beyond their comfort zone, and our instructors have worked with horses for many years and understand their tendencies.
